Blue Note Re:Imagined
Fear not, it’s not another remix-album – this time the long standing tradition of interpretation in jazz is celebrated instead of rubbing shoulders with what seems to be contemporary and so often ending up in butchering the classics. Blue Note Re:Imagined is indeed a celebration – of fantastic pieces from way back and of fantastic new talent. Those re-interpretations offer a very diverse package of inventive and caring viewpoints to a lot of tunes, with, at the best results of this compilation, definitely open up new sides to tracks you probably heard quite often – or don’t. Blue Note Re:Imagined also offers another glimpse into the great catalogue of the legendary imprint and is a lush cornucopia of blending classic tracks with new and sometimes daring interpretations. And of course, as all the artists here are UK-based, it could also be understood as a littel nod the nonsense that is brexit, but that is just my humble opinion. Please enjoy the great music!
